Planned Parenthood of Central North Carolina provides education programs, health care, and advocacy to help reduce unintended pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections, especially among teens, people with limited incomes, and the uninsured.
Education Empowering Young People The Education Department works to make a long-term, positive impact on the sexual health of our communities! Planned Parenthood promotes positive sexuality, healthy behavior, and responsible choices, through implementing medically-accurate, intensive and balanced sexuality education programs. Our programs are innovative, bold, and effective tools for preventing adolescent pregnancy and promoting reproductive health in central North Carolina.
Medical Caring, Compassionate, and Confidential The Planned Parenthood of Central North Carolina health center team ensures access to comprehensive reproductive health care by providing services in settings which preserve and protect an individual’s right to privacy, dignity, and choice. Services include: -> birth control cosultation and supplies, -> gynecological exams and PAP tests, -> in-clinic abortion and abortion by pill, -> emergency contraception, -> pregnancy testing and options information, -> testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections, -> permanent birth control- vasectomy and essure, and -> rapid HIV testing.

Advocacy Policies that Make Sense The Public Affairs team advocates for public policies which support funding for family planning service, equal insurance coverage for contraception, better access to emergency contraception and medically-accurate comprehensive sex eductaion.
