Planned Parenthood Keystone Statement on the Transfer of the Curve in York to the Rainbow Rose Center
For Immediate Release: Dec. 1, 2023 (Updated: Dec. 1, 2023, noon)
Planned Parenthood Keystone is excited to share the news of an important update to the Curve, our LGBTQ+ youth program. Effective January 1, 2024, the Curve will be run and operated by the Rainbow Rose Center.
Since 2006, the Curve has served as a crucial safe space for LGBTQ+ youth in the community and was the pioneering program of its kind in York and will continue on with Rainbow Rose Center.
“Planned Parenthood Keystone began the Curve to offer LGBTQ+ youth a space of their own. We are deeply grateful to the Rainbow Rose Center for continuing on this legacy. The Rainbow Rose Center’s Curve program will ensure that LGBTQ+ youth have an affirming space in York, no matter what.” stated Melissa Reed, President and CEO of Planned Parenthood Keystone. “We are grateful to our own Education Department for their decades of service to the Curve and York County.”
The Curve programming will continue during the transition with Rainbow Rose Center taking full control in January 2024. Planned Parenthood Keystone and the Rainbow Rose Center will continue to work in support of each other to ensure that LGBTQ+ individuals in York County have access to affirming programs and sexual and reproductive health care.
