(Warminster, PA) - On Saturday March 4th, Rainbow Room and its founder and director, Marlene Pray, were honored by the Human Rights Campaign Greater Philadelphia. Rainbow Room and Marlene Pray were given the Community Leadership Award to honor Rainbow Room’s 20 years of support to the LGBTQ+ community and Marlene’s indefatigable service to LGBTQ+ youth in the greater Bucks County area.

“I’m so proud to be part of the Rainbow Room and to think of all the lives we have impacted over the years, and how queer youth have impacted our world and community. We create the space at the Rainbow Room, but the kids do it for themselves. And what they say, how they show up - if we listen, we can change the world. This award is for them, and we’re so grateful to the HRC for this honor,” stated Marlene Pray, founder and director of Rainbow Room.

Rainbow Room is an LGBTQ+ youth education program of Planned Parenthood Keystone, the geographically largest Planned Parenthood in Pennsylvania. Marlene Pray is the founder and director of Rainbow Room and is currently expanding the Rainbow Room to a second location in lower Bucks County. LGBTQ+ youth ages 14-21 years old in Bucks County meet weekly and are accepted for who they are – no judgment or pressure.

“Planned Parenthood Keystone is immensely proud of our Rainbow Room program and Marlene Pray. Marlene is a tireless advocate for equality, never backing down, and always fighting for the rights of the LGBTQ+ community. She founded Rainbow Room 20 years ago as a safe space for LGBTQ+ youth and has grown the program into a county-wide support system. I am overjoyed to see Rainbow Room and Marlene Pray honored with this award from the Human Rights Campaign – it validates the work we’ve been doing to advance equality,” stated Melissa Reed, President and CEO of Planned Parenthood Keystone.
