Gender Affirming Hormone Therapy Self Injection Videos

Congratulations on beginning gender-affirming hormone therapy! Planned Parenthood North Central States is committed to ensuring you have the support and resources you need.

These videos are a guide to help you with administering intramuscular (IM) or subcutaneous (SQ) self-injections, created by our friends at Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas.

Additional Assistance

Once you have your prescription and injection supplies, you are welcome to come in for an injection training appointment. Bring your hormones and your supplies to the appointment.

Our staff will teach you how to self-inject and walk you through giving yourself your first injection. You will also receive an injection brochure with step-by-step instructions. Please keep in mind, Planned Parenthood cannot administer your hormones for you. We will instruct you on how to self-administer your shots.

If you have questions, feel free to reach out to an LGBTQ+ Care Coordinator.
