Public Relations Internship



Want to put your communication skills to work, promoting comphrensive/medically accurate/age-appropriate sexual health education, reproductive rights and health services?

Job Responsibilities:
1. Update local media contact list for effective pro-active public relations and quick response.

2. Monitor, clip, and archive related coverage in the capital region media.

3. Research and pitch stories to broadcasted, printed, and online media outlets.

4. Compose and distribute press releases.

5. Help organize press conferences, including press advisory distribution, follow-up calls and assembly of press packets.

6. Table at concerts, health fairs and other events to promote health services.

7. All interns will be required to assist in general clerical work such as shredding, collating, photocopying, data entry, and mailings.

Requirements:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizing skills, an "eye for detail."
Experience with internet use for research and information dissemination.
Commitment to Planned Parenthood's mission and services.
