Washington — Planned Parenthood Federation of America and the Planned Parenthood Action Fund are thrilled to announce the newest addition to the organization's executive leadership team. Jenn Brown will begin as senior vice president for policy, advocacy and campaigns on August 3. Brown will oversee the organizing and electoral campaigns, public policy and government relations, as well as the litigation and law departments.

Statement from Alexis McGill Johnson, president and CEO of Planned Parenthood Federation of American and Planned Parenthood Action Fund:

I am thrilled to welcome Jenn to the Planned Parenthood family. Jenn is an organizing powerhouse with an innate understanding of how to activate supporters and execute movement strategy. She brings deep expertise and has spent the last 15 years advancing progressive values, inspiring civic engagement, standing strong as an ally, and organizing people for change. At Planned Parenthood, she will help grow and empower our supporters, strategize campaign activities to meet our legislative and electoral goals, and advise on public policy issues that impact our patients. We’re excited to learn from, and with, Jenn as we enter a challenging and promising new chapter for Planned Parenthood and our country.

Most recently, Brown served as deputy campaign manager for Sen. Cory Booker’s presidential campaign. Previously, she was the founding executive director of Civic Nation, a national nonprofit that uses organizing, engagement and public awareness to address some of our nation's most pressing challenges. Brown was the founding executive director of Battleground Texas, a long-term project dedicated to making Texas competitive for democrats. And for many years she  worked for the Obama campaign and DNC in several roles, including field director for Ohio, Mid-Atlantic & Ohio Valley regional director and Minnesota state director. Brown also brings a wealth of experience from several social justice organizations, including Vote Hope, the Center for Progressive Leadership and the United States Student Association. Brown graduated from the University of California, San Diego.
