Planned Parenthood Joins Title X Family Planning Program in Oklahoma, Low to No Cost Care Available at Health Centers Across the State

Today, Planned Parenthood Great Plains (PPGP) is excited to announce it has joined the federal Title X program in Oklahoma, increasing its reach as an essential part of the family planning safety net for the state. At the start of the new year, PPGP was officially granted funding by Missouri Family Health Council (MFHC), which oversees and supports much of the Title X network in the state, to deliver low to no cost, equitable, and high-quality family planning care at its health centers across Oklahoma.  

MFHC has been a steward of Title X for more than 40 years and has worked with providers like PPGP to deliver services including contraception counseling and supplies, wellness exams, breast and cervical cancer screenings, sexually transmitted infection (STI) and HIV prevention, screenings, treatment, immunizations, and pregnancy screening and counseling. Under the national family planning program, PPGP will have increased funding to directly support the cost of care for eligible patients, regardless of insurance status.

PPGP is an experienced provider in Title X – the only federal grant program dedicated solely to delivering inclusive, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive family planning and related preventive health services. The program supports a diverse network of clinics including state and local health departments, federally qualified health centers, hospital-based sites, and other private nonprofit and community-based health centers.

PPGP has four health centers across Oklahoma, opening its Lawton location in 2022. PPGP’s clinics see patients for a wide range of services including birth control, STI and HIV testing and treatment, emergency contraception (morning-after pill), pregnancy testing and services, gender-affirming care, and general wellness care. Additionally, PPGP launched vasectomy services last year with free two-day clinics in both Oklahoma City and Tulsa. The organization recently announced expanded free and reduced cost vasectomy procedures.
