We are thrilled to announce the opening of a brand new health center in Absecon, which saw its first patient in April 2024!

The Absecon health center joins the affiliate’s 16 other brick-and-mortar centers throughout New Jersey in providing high-quality reproductive and sexual health services, education, and information. We’re proud to offer a full range of essential services, including lifesaving cancer screenings, birth control, testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections and HIV/AIDS, education, and abortion services at this new facility.

The location of Absecon for our new health center was incredibly intentional. Southern New Jersey is a reproductive health access desert. Before the opening of this health center, people living in New Jersey’s southernmost counties had to travel upwards of 90 minutes by car or three hours by public transportation to the closest reproductive health center. For people who have to take time off work, find childcare, and arrange transportation, the costs to access reproductive health care can quickly add up.

Our new Absecon health center is uniquely positioned to meet a critical need in a long-underserved area. Here, and at all our health centers across New Jersey, we will continue to provide much-needed access to care for everyone, regardless of gender, race, zip code, income, immigration status, or insurance coverage.

As states across the country are forced to close health centers, here in New Jersey, we are innovating, expanding, and meeting the moment. Our investment in this new health center fortifies our commitment to expand access, position New Jersey as a leader, and most importantly, ensure access to care for all, no matter what.
