Going to the doctor’s office can be stressful and intimidating. Scheduling your annual wellness visit is something you know you should do, but you might keep putting it off. The good news is that your friends at Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties are here to make the process a little bit easier and dare we say enjoyable.

What’s an Annual Wellness Exam?

If this is the first time you’ve heard of an annual wellness visit, don’t worry—we’ll explain. Think of it as a yearly check-in with your body and health with the support of your medical provider. The ultimate goal of this appointment is preventative care. What this looks like can vary depending on your age, but typically it involves cancer screenings, a review of your current birth control method, and an STI test if you’re sexually active.

In addition, this is your chance to ask our care team any questions you may have about your reproductive health. Is your schedule too hectic to remember to take your birth control pill every day? Does your family have a history of cervical cancer, and you want to know what you can do to be proactive? Has your period been really weird for the past three months? Our care team create a safe, judgment-free environment where your concerns are heard, and your needs are met.

When Can I Schedule an Appointment?

Whenever works best for you! We get it—your schedule can get crazy, and no one wants to use their paid time off (PTO) to see the doctor. That’s why our nine health centers are open seven days a week! We even have same-day appointments available. Just give us a call at 714-922-4100 for more info and to schedule your visit.

Planned Parenthood is here to support your health and wellness. Don’t put off your annual wellness visit any longer—schedule your appointment today!
