Planned Parenthood Southeastern PA celebrates the end of state funding for CPCs

(Philadelphia, Pa.) --- Planned Parenthood Southeastern PA CEO Dayle Steinberg today released the following statement regarding state funding of crisis pregnancy centers through the “Real Alternatives” program.
“We have been sounding the alarm for decades to expose the harm caused by deceptive practices employed by crisis pregnancy centers across Pennsylvania. For too long, they have used false pretenses and misleading advertising deliberatively designed to confuse pregnant people and lure them into their centers to receive anti-abortion counseling. Patients have been lied to about options available to them, with utter disregard for their bodily autonomy.
We applaud Governor Shapiro for standing strong for access to the full spectrum of critically needed sexual and reproductive health services including abortion care. We thank him for restoring the respect that patients deserve by putting a halt to decades of state-funded deception.”
