Planned Parenthood of Southern New England presents Funny, Feminist, Fearless at the Westport Country Playhouse in Westport, Connecticut.

(New Haven, CT) On Tuesday, November 12, 2013, Planned Parenthood of Southern New England (PPSNE) will present Funny, Feminist, Fearless. This entertaining evening will take place at 7 p.m. at the Westport Country Playhouse, 25 Powers Court, Westport, CT with a post-show reception for sponsors. Singer, writer, actor and activist Sandra Bernhard and comedian, activist and co-creator and former head writer of "The Daily Show" Lizz Winstead, will take part in witty and topical conversation, which will be followed by a Q&A from audience members. This is the comedians’ first show together and it is for one night only.

Bernhard is known for her satirical one-woman shows, music, movie and television roles, including Nancy Bartlett, the first openly gay character on a network sitcom, "Roseanne." She often mixes art and activism, and is a longtime supporter of women’s and gay rights. Through her art, Bernhard has inspired generations of women and men to stand up and speak out for what they believe in.

Winstead is known for her progressive ideas and her commitment to creating a public conversation around women’s health. As co-creator of "The Daily Show," her humorous, analytical slant on the news influenced a growing generation of writers, reporters and broadcasters, and inspired thousands of women and men to speak-up about their own experiences.

"We are delighted to bring Sandra Bernhard and Lizz Winstead together for Planned Parenthood and Funny, Feminist, Fearless," said Judy Tabar President & CEO of Planned Parenthood of Southern New England. "We are looking forward to a wonderful evening of entertainment, laughter and purpose. This will be an unforgettable night."

All proceeds from Funny, Feminist, Fearless go directly to care for PPSNE patients who receive high quality health care, regardless of their ability to pay. Annually, PPSNE serves over 70,000 women, men and teens, providing a range of critical, life-saving health care services, including breast cancer screenings, Pap tests, birth control, and STD/STI testing and treatment.

Funny, Feminist, Fearless will feature an evening filled with cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, comedy and camaraderie while celebrating the important work of Planned Parenthood of Southern New England. This special event is open to the public. For more information or to purchase tickets go to www.westportplayhouse.org; or contact (203) 752-2813 or @ppsne.org.
