PPSNE believes all people deserve high-quality health care and nonjudgmental sexual health information.

June is Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender (LGBT) Pride Month and Planned Parenthood of Southern New England (PPSNE) is proud to reaffirm its commitment to the rights and health of LGBTQ people. Planned Parenthood provides high-quality health care and nonjudgmental sexual health for all people and its doors are open to everyone.

“This June, and every day of the year, Planned Parenthood stands with lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people. We see you. We care about you. We stand with you no matter where you live – no matter what,” said Judy Tabar President & CEO of Planned Parenthood of Southern New England. “PPSNE believes that reproductive rights are deeply connected to civil rights for all Americans. We have long stood with the LGBTQ community in the struggle for full equality – many of whom turn to Planned Parenthood for health care, information and education in Connecticut and Rhode Island.”

Planned Parenthood strives to provide health care that is inclusive and respectful of all genders with a goal to make every person who comes through its doors feel welcome, comfortable and cared for. Every family is unique and every family deserves to be recognized, supported and valued. PPSNE believes that a safe environment for all families is integral to leading a happy and complete life. Planned Parenthood has 18 health centers in Connecticut and Rhode Island that welcome all people.

“At Planned Parenthood of Southern New England, we understand that LGBTQ people have unique health care needs. LGBTQ communities face greater obstacles to obtaining and benefiting from sexual and reproductive health services than non-LGBTQ people,” said Tabar. “We believe that everyone deserves high-quality, affordable health care and compassionate, nonjudgmental sexual health information – no matter what. We take pride in providing high-quality health care for LGBTQ people in our community.”

Planned Parenthood is a trusted, local resource for convenient and high-quality care for all people, including STD and HIV testing and counseling, all FDA approved birth control methods, pregnancy testing and counseling, emergency contraception, work and school physicals and more. We offer medical interpretation services for non-English speaking patients; have a sliding fee scale based on one’s income and participate in many insurance plans. For convenience, walk-in, online and same day appointments are available.
