What is Camp MEE?
Our Education team is dedicated to the belief that all people have a right to relationship and sexual health education that will help them understand, appreciate and take responsibility for their lives.
Camp Movement, Enrichment, Empowerment (MEE) is a health and wellness summer camp for youth of all genders, ages 11-14. Our week-long summer camps visit Dayton, Cincinnati, and Springfield every year.
Why Camp MEE?
Only 7.2% of students in Ohio receive instruction in all 20 comprehensive sex education topics. The Ohio Revised code does not include any requirement for sex education to be medically accurate or comprehensive. Plus, it leaves out important topics for youth to learn about, like consent and gender identity. Camp MEE fills this gap by providing campers with factual information in a fun setting where they can learn alongside their peers.
Topics covered include:
Sexual Health
Relationships
Internet Safety
Puberty, Hygiene, Menstruation
Defining & Maintaining Abstinence
Nutrition & Movement
Pregnancy & Birth
LGBTQ+ Identities
