The abortion pill (also known as a medication abortion) is offered up to 10 weeks and 0 days after the first day of your last menstrual period. It is a safe and effective way of ending an early pregnancy.

Post-Appointment Information
In the unlikely event that you are still pregnant, you may need another dose of medicine or to have an in-clinic abortion to end the pregnancy.
We’ll also give you after-care instructions and a phone number you can call with any questions or concerns.

Availability
In-clinic abortion (also known as surgical abortion) is offered up to 16 weeks and 4 days after the first day of your last menstrual period.
If your last period started more than 16 weeks and 4 days ago, we can help connect you to other abortion options in your area.

Preparing For Your Appointment
If you take any medicines, please continue to take them normally before your appointment or bring them with you on the day of your appointment.
If you have asthma, bring an inhaler if you have one.
If you plan to have sedation, please do not eat for 6 hours or drink clear liquids for 6 hours before your appointment.
If you desire medication to help make your in-clinic abortion more comfortable, you must have a responsible companion with you to help you get home safely.
There may be additional charges for lab and blood work.
Payment is expected at time of service unless other arrangements have been made.
What To Expect During Your Appointment
When you choose an abortion service at our health center, you may also receive the following: pregnancy test pregnancy dating (ultrasound)
At times there may be protesters outside of the health center. We suggest you avoid interaction with them. This health center offers escorts to walk you inside to your appointment.
Please do not bring children to the health center.
PA Requirements
Pennsylvania law requires all abortion patients to attend an information session at least 24 hours prior to an abortion procedure. Please call the center for more information and to book an appointment.
No children or support people are allowed in the center during this session. Patients under the age of 18 can bring a parent or legal guardian (must bring proof of guardianship).
If you are under the age of 18, Pennsylvania law requires you to have parental or a legal guardian's consent in order to receive abortion services. If you are unable to get consent, you can apply for a process called judicial bypass. You will be provided with more information when you make your abortion appointment.

Before your abortion, our expert and caring staff will discuss all of your pregnancy options with you to help you make sure abortion is the best decision for you. We’ll also talk with you about your health history to make sure we’re providing the best care for you.
